AMC Defends Liberty

[MercNet] (11-Jan-68) – The AMC has reported another victory in their ongoing efforts to protect Chaos March worlds from predation. Elements of the Third Dismal Disinherited engaged and defeated a pirate attack on Liberty at the end of December 3067. The pirates, calling themselves the “Lafayette Legion”, attempted a two-pronged raid against the system. The main thrust of the attack occurred outside the DropPort, where several pirates and attendant support vehicles attempted to infiltrate and steal two merchant DropShips being prepared for liftoff. A diversionary raid was repulsed in short order only an hour prior near an abandoned Lyran Alliance military installation, long since stripped of useful war material. That raid was defeated by Burton’s Brigade, who had taken up residence at the abandoned base with the permission of the Liberty government.
