Log... journal. I’m starting one because of what will be ahead. And because I fear being alone.
I’m rambling. Not a good start.
>>INSERTION<<
I’m inserting this back here as it seems the most appropriate location for it. Father, I’ve made some arrangements for you to get this when I die. If I die. You may never get this, even if I do die, but in case you do, I hope it… makes a difference.
Some of the things >>DELETION<< you said >>END DELETION<< —some of the things we said can never be undone. They’re behind us now, and my intention with sending you this is to show you that my choice wasn’t such a bad one. Maybe someday, I’ll find it in me to send you this before I die. Maybe someday, I can just talk to you again.
But if not, I hope you can find something you can be proud of in what follows.

Terra…
I never knew I would be here, and I didn’t completely accept it until I got out of the DropShip. The air I breath. The sun that shines on me. The dirt beneath my feet. This is where we came from. I have a hard time identifying what I feel.
Awe. It’s like I’m scratching on the surface of some kind of greater understanding.
We have walked this planet thousands of times longer than we have walked in space. But what have we got to show for it? We can be so much more than we are now, but we always let greed and war get the better of us. We corrupt and are corrupted. Power corrupts.
Blake was right when he said that the ability to use technology, and the capacity to do so responsibly are two completely different things. Examples of irresponsible utilization can be found everywhere, bleeding across every page of a history book.
We must resist the temptation to use technology carelessly.
We recognize that certain matters in life require a certain maturity. Drinking. Driving. Military service.
When are we mature enough to operate JumpShips, WarShips and BattleMechs?
Anastasius is a fool for using his splinter organization to spread knowledge and technology to any and all who crave it. It is like giving knives to every kid in a playground. Something’s bound to go horribly wrong. And some of these kids really hate each other. He is blinded by the Clans, and the threat they pose, willing to throw everything away just to fight a single war. What when its over? Put it all back in a box? I’m sure they’ll cooperate.
How can he not see that the Clans are the greatest living example of what can happen when you use technology without responsibility?
The recapture of Terra should have come ages ago.
