[Mercenaries Today] Delta Regiment of Wolf's Dragoons has always been "that regiment." It was Delta that played the vital role on Coventry back in '58. It was Delta that stayed on contract during the Dragoons' Civil War. It was Delta that was away from Outreach—and not recalled—when the Blakists struck and annihilated the new Mercenary's Star.

In April of 3070, fate caught up with them. Still under contract with the Draconis Combine, the last coherent Dragoon force came under attack by an elite group of Word of Blake units on Buckminster after it was rumored that a high-ranking Combine officer was visiting the regiment. Still riding the forefront of the first terrible years of the Jihad, the Blakists assault the veteran Dragoons and expected an easy victory.

Like most of the Dragoons' opponents, however, it was the Blakists who were surprised. Colonel Shelly Brubaker led her regiment in a defense that is sure to be the subject of lecture at military colleges for decades, smashing the supporting Blakist forces and gutting the main force, now identified as a heretofore-unknown unit known as Tunrida's Terror. By the end of the battle the Terror was all-but-shattered, and withdrew in disorder, but they had succeeded in one mission.

Delta Regiment lay fallen, the last of the Dragoons regiments to die.

Reports from Benjamin earlier this year have brought these "Terrors" to light again, as the same insignia has been observed in the Blakist forces operating there. A black broadsword, with red-and-gold feathered wings, has been sighted on Benjamin, but evidently Tunrida, whoever or whatever he was, did not survive the battle on Buckminster. Captured signals name the lord of these new "Avengers" Arioch, and in battle this rebuilt Forty-Fifth Division is more fearsome than ever.
