SCENARIO CONTENT

BattleCorps is the market for official (canon) fiction set in the BattleTech® universe. We are looking for scenarios which cover or simulate minor events in BattleTech's history, or previously unreported or uncovered events. These may utilize any of the major BattleTech game lines: BattleTech or A Time of War: The BattleTech RPG(TM).

Scenario submissions cannot have been previously published, on the Internet or by other means, although writers are encouraged to playtest the scenario in a private setting.

The entire timeline up to near the end of the Jihad in 3077 is open for exploration. Newer writers are encouraged to stay on the sidelines of larger events (such as Kerensky's assault on Terra or the Fourth Succession War) to prevent submission conflicts with the core BattleTech authors. It is unlikely that we will purchase vanity scenarios about personal units with author-as-character. Neither are we interested in gratuitous sex or "gross-out" violence. The best advice is to find an unexplored area or idea, write a really good scenario, and be professional.

BATTLETECH SCENARIO MANUSCRIPT FORMAT

Scenarios should mirror the format currently used with BattleCorps scenarios (when in doubt, simply look carefully at the format and word choice of an already published scenario).

We are currently not interested in unsolicited linked scenarios, campaigns, OPERATION-style scenarios or Track-style scenarios.

Please follow the guidelines found in the template when submitting a BattleTech scenario for review:

Players can find the template HERE that they must download and use as is to submit a scenario.

Finally, writers should keep the following things in mind when writing a BattleTech scenario.

--Writers must use units ('Mechs, vehicles, battle armor, aerospace fighters and so on) from existing Catalyst (or earlier) publications, such as Technical Readouts, Record Sheet books, Field Manuals and so on. Custom units of any kind are disallowed.

--Writers are encouraged to develop scenarios which do not require more than four BattleTech mapsheets or equivalent, to provide a scenario that can be used by players without placing heavy demands on their time and space. Writers are also encouraged to provide a "balanced" scenario, where all entities are at rough parity, and have a reasonable chance at victory. Note that this allows for a severe force imbalance provided the smaller force's objectives can reasonably be completed with such a large force imbalance.

--Writers must provide source and page references when referring to canon events, rules or units.

Failure to comply with the above guidelines may result in the rejection of the scenario submission.
